DNA My Dog Breed Test
Not Available
The DNA My Dog Test database includes the 102 breeds most commonly found in North American mixed breed dogs according to historical trends in dog popularity.
The breeds included are the most commonly seen breeds such as Chihuahua, German Shepherd Dog, Labrador Retriever and Yorkshire Terrier. These common breeds are the ones most likely to be present in a mixed breed dog or in the increasingly common designer dogs.
Rare breeds such as Komondorok, Kuvasz or Wirehaired Pointing Griffon are unlikely to be found in a regular mixed breed dogs.
As the cost and time of running dog breed DNA test increases as you add more breeds, DNA My Dog decided to include only the most common breeds to keep the price at an affordable level.
DNA My Dog have been able to match samples to their database for more than 99% of samples received.
What Happens If My Dog Has Breeds That Are Not in The Database?
The DNA My Dog Test covers the most common breeds found in the mixed breed dog population. If your dog has DNA from a breed that is not included in the database then that DNA will usually be assigned to the foundation breed, or breeds, of your dog or the most closely related breed. In some cases, if the breed is not found, it will be reported as unidentified.
If you believe your dog is a breed not included in the DNA My Dog database, please Contact Us so we can advise you on how best to proceed.

Important Information for Foreign Dogs
Is your dog from Eastern Europe, Greece or the Middle East?

Limitations of the DNA My Dog Test
The DNA My Dog Test is designed for the sole purpose of identifying breeds found in the genetic composition of dogs.
It cannot determine whether or not a dog is purebred; it can merely identify DNA that matches the validated breeds that make up the database.
Your analysis will be compiled based on the results obtained from your DNA sample submission, and will be processed with a reasonable amount of certainty. It is possible that there have been some random changes within your dog’s DNA which may affect the results. The testing procedures and database are designed to recognize that this may happen and minimize any effect. It is understood that no analytical test is 100% accurate. DNA My Dog are not responsible for any inferences made about any individual dog based upon the provided information.
The test is based upon a database of recognized breeds. If your dog contains other breeds, not in the database, it may give rise to the identification of breeds earlier in your pet’s history and may therefore provide a seemingly unlikely result for your dog. It is important to understand that each dog is uniquely individual. Two dogs with the same breeds detected in their DNA may exhibit drastically different physical traits. In terms of behavior and personality, while certain traits may generally be associated with specific breeds, behavior will also be influenced by environment, training and handling.
The behavior, health and personality summary is for informational purposes only, and is based on information publicly available on purebred dogs. This information is not intended to predict disease or behavior, but is intended solely as a guide to traits often found in the breeds identified in your dog. These traits may or may not be found in your individual dog.
